Agitate, an Art Show from the Political Underground, took place from 20th to 27th July 2002 at the Great Northern warehouse, Manchester.
From the untrained street style of Manchester grafitti artists to the internationally renowned work of cartoonist Seth Tobocman, AgiTate set out to question where passive observation ends and participatation begins in both the exclusive world of art and the broader spectacle of everyday life. Curated by Jai Redman (UHC Collective) with guest curators Kwong Lee (Mart) and Helen Knowles (RadioHalo). Initiated by NATO (Northern Arts Tactical Offensive) as part of the Blitz festival.
