There’s a big gay scene in Manchester: Canal Street’s packed with clubs, bars, boys, girls and everything in between. So why am I not satisfied? Me and my friends have been looking for a while for radical, DIY, queer stuff in Manchester and still haven’t found anything. All the gay culture I’ve found has been corporate bullshit - Pink Pound lahdidah where what you wear is more important than who you are. So forgive me if I’m not ecstatic about all this ‘progress’ in gay rights.
I can’t really help you find the alternative gay scene in Manchester - I’m dubious that there even is one.
